OUTCOMES OF THE NATIONAL ORGANISATIONAL RESILIENCE WORKSHOP

In December 2007 the Critical Infrastructure Protection Branch and Emergency Management Australia co-sponsored a workshop to explore the concept of Organisational Resilience.

The workshop had three objectives:

·         To create a network of key leaders on organisational resilience thinking.

·         To produce a discussion paper on organisational resilience.

·         To develop a set of activities that would enhance the resiliency of Australian infrastructure owners and operators.

Any ideas that could contribute to further development would be welcome.  Please feel free to email this document onwards. Discussions are currently occurring on further development activities.

MEMBERSHIP COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH RMIA

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) have finalised a membership cooperation agreement.  RMIA and the BCI are leading organisations in developing risk and business continuity management professionalism.  The BCI has more than 3,000 members in over 70 countries.  The RMIA has about 1,400 members in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.  There are clear synergies in areas where the two organisations operate.  By exploiting these synergies both organisations believe they will be able to gain mutual benefit. The arrangement between RMIA and BCI is based on the accepted concept of mutual benefit for members of both organisations and developed in a spirit of professionalism and cooperation.
